When you use punishing methods to train, you are using intimidation and are teaching your dog to fear you.

K9 Coaches use methods to teach your dog what you desire them to do that do not ruin the human/canine bond; methods supported by science and the world of psychology. Don't believe any Trainer that tells you that you have to "dominate" your dog to be a leader.

But if they do tell you this, then ask yourself, "Would I rather be Gandhi or Fidel Castro?"
